The Night Sky is NiGHTS personal extreme gear in the Sonic Riders series. It is a board type gear which has appeared in both Sonic Riders and Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity that is unlocked along with NiGHTS.

Sonic Riders[]

From Twin Seeds. Only for a Nightmaren.
~ Night Sky's in-game description.

In Sonic Riders, the Night Sky is a purple board with fuchsia stripes, a light purple stripe across the rear, yellow fins on the sides of the rear and two little yellow stars.

The Night Sky is unlocked along with NiGHTS, once the player beats all of the Babylon Rouges missions. According to its description, the Night Sky was fabricated in Twin Seeds and was a present for NiGHTS.

The board doesn't have any special feature nor unique ability and it is exclusive for NiGHTS. The Night Sky is their default extreme gear.

Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity[]

NiGHT's gear is made of dreams given form. It's said it will vanish if people cease to dream.
~ Night Sky in-game description.

The Night Sky returns to Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity, where once again, it is NiGHTS defaut extreme gear and it is unlocked along with NiGHTS, once the player beats all of the Dr. Eggman's missions.

In this game, the Night Sky got a redesign, losing its stripes and getting two small orange stars located where the racer is supposed to stand. The Night Sky has two fin-like exhaust ports with yellow rims on each side of the rear.

Once again, the Night Sky doesn't have any special feature nor unique ability. Its gear parts are the default fly type ones, being the Max Speed UP, Air Ride and GP Gauge UP. In this game, the Night Sky can be used by all of the characters but Doctor Eggman, though only in the Survival Relay mode. In the races and every other mode, the Night Sky is exclusive to NiGHTS.

Trivia[]

  • The Night Sky is the only extreme gear which belongs to a non Sonic character to make more than one appearance. The obvious reason for that is because NiGHTS is the only SEGA guest character to make more than one appearance as a playable character in the Sonic Riders series.
  • NiGHTS name is mispelled "NiGHTs" in the Night Sky's in-game description from Sonic Riders: Zero Gravity.
